QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

IN RESPONSE TO THE REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS (RFA)
FOR THE PROJECT OF INTERNSHIPS IN NATIONAL GOVERNMENTAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

1. In section about project tasks it is stated that internships should be minimum 30 mentorship hours "for an internship period of UP to 6 months" when writing about drafting of memorandum of Understanding with BEP, while down the line it is stated we should "place selected interns into BEP counterparts departments/offices FOR period of 6 months". Would you clarify how long interns have to be in BEP offices?

Interns will not be placed in the USAID Business Enabling Project's (USAID BEP) offices, but in the offices of USAID BEP's counterparts. The placement of interns is envisaged to be for up to 6 months, while the total number of hours per month that mentors should commit to working with interns is 30.

The following is the list of the USAID BEP's counterparts (as stated in RFA):

LIST OF BEP COUNTERPARTS / GoS INSTITUTIONS AND REGULATORY BODIES:

National Assembly, General Secretariat of the GoS, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Construction and Urban Planning, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Policy, Ministry of Foreign and Domestic Trade and Telecommunications, Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, and Land Registry Directorate (Cadaster).

2. In section Grant activity Description, it is stated that we should "implement an action plan for placement of UP to 15 young professionals / recent graduates as interns..." while in section about tasks said "announce an open call for internships, select and recruit 15+ young professionals suitable for internship positions". Can you specify number of expected interns?

There should be 15 places for interns, but the number of recruited young professionals could be higher than 15. It means that the grantee should recruit few more young professionals, who will receive training, and be available to replace other interns who may drop out from the program.

3. Is there a time frame in which all project activities should be finished? (since it is stated that they should start from November 2012).

The projects should last for a maximum of one year (up to 12 months).
